What Founder Almanac Is

Founder Almanac is an AI-powered business advisor that helps you think through business decisions using wisdom extracted from 380+ founder biographies and business histories. The service is provided free of charge.

When you use Founder Almanac, we collect:

Account information: Your name and email address when you sign up, either directly or through Google sign-in. We use this solely for authentication and to maintain your chat sessions.

Chat data: The questions you ask and the responses you receive are stored to maintain your conversation history. This data is associated with your account so you can return to previous conversations.

Usage data: Basic analytics such as pages visited and feature usage to help us improve the product. We do not track you across other websites.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to provide and improve the Founder Almanac service. Specifically: to authenticate your account, to save and display your chat history, to improve search relevance and response quality, and to understand how people use the product so we can make it better.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a managed database platform with encryption at rest and in transit. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Third-Party Services

Founder Almanac uses the following third-party services to operate: Supabase for authentication and data storage, Anthropic (Claude) for AI-powered responses, OpenAI for text embeddings used in knowledge search, Vercel for hosting, and Google for optional sign-in authentication. Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

Your Rights

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. You can also delete individual chat sessions from within the application.
